BCU Range Extender

The BCU range extender is a BCU-dependent device crafted at the BCU. It allows the player to expand their base by claiming additional command space.
A range extender must be placed within the command sphere of an existing BCU (or another existing range extender) and projects another base command sphere around itself, within which other BCU-dependent devices may then be placed. (BCU-independend objects like woodburners and storage chests and any mere building pieces need not be placed within claimed command space to begin with.)
Obviously, for the greatest possible gain in command space, a range extender should be placed as close as possible to the borders of the command sphere it is placed in.
Upgrades
Currently the range extender cannot be upgraded in any way.
